HOW TO MAKE DRY PEAS TIKKI CHAAT RECIPE, DRY PEAS TIKKI CHAAT

Normally we make tikki with potato but today I am going to tell you how to make tikki with the dry green peas and with that we will make tikki chaat. Health wise this tikki chaat is better option for diabetic patients comparing normal aloo chaat. And taste wise also this is very tasty and yummy. Recipe type – breakfast
Cuisine – north indian
How many – 9 tikkis
Green or yellow dry peas – 1 cup(soaked over night)
Potato/aloo – 2 medium (boiled)
Cornflour – 2 tbsp + for dusting
Bread crumbs – 2tbsp OR bread slices – 2
Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
Red chilly pwdr – ½ tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Roasted jeera/cumin pwdr – 1 tsp
Dry ginger pwdr – ½ tsp
Chaat masala pwdr – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Ghee/oil – for shallow fry
Curd – ½ cup
Tamarind chutney – ½ cup
Green chutney – ¼ cup
Namkin sev – ¼ cup
Finelly chopped onion – ½ cup
Chaat masala – as require
Black salt – as per taste
Red chilly – as per taste
Take dry peas in a big bowl and soak it in water for over night.
Next morning drain the water and boil the peas with 1 cup of water by adding turmeric and salt. For boiling peas,
After 1 whistle keep the flame low for 3 mins and then switch of the stove. After boiling drain the water and keep boiled peas aside.
Now in a big plate take boiled potatoes and mash them nicely. Add boiled peas mix and mash them together. Now add red chilly, turmeric, garam masala, roasted cumin pwdr, dry ginger, cornflour, bread crumbs and salt. Mix nicely with the hands.
Now take a medium apple size tikki mix in hands and make tikkies.
For shallow fry
Heat tava and place 2 or 3 tikkies in a time, spread ghee .When the base is partially cooked, flip the tikki.
Spread some ghee on the partially cooked tikki and on the sides as well.
Shallow fry the tikkies till they become golden brown from both the sides.
Now tikkies are ready serve hot with
Boil soaked peas by adding water, turmeric and salt
Mash the boiled peas nicely
Mash the boiled potatoes
Add spices and mix well
Sprinkle dusting and put in hot tava , add oil
Shallow fry both the sides
