Easy Amritsari Paneer

Preparation time – 10 mins

Cooking time – 15-20 mins




Paneer/cottage cheese – 250 g (cut into finger shape)

Ginger – garlic paste – 2 tsp

Ajwain/carom seeds – ½ tsp

Red chilly pwdr – ½ tsp to 1 tsp

Black pepper powder  – ½ tsp

Gram flour/besan – 4-5 tbsp or as require

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Salt – as per taste

Oil – as require




In a bowl take ginger-garlic paste, ajwain, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, salt and lemon juice.

Mix them well.

Add paneer to this mix, mix gently so that paneer gets coated with the spices from all the sides.

Before serving, Spread besan in a plate.

Take one piece of paneer in a time and coat with the besan all the sides. Repeat this same process for

for all paneer pieces.

Heat oil in a kadai on medium heat. Place coated paneer to the oil and deep fry till crisp and golden

brown, drain on paper napkins. Serve it with green chutney.
