Hyderabadi Chicken 65

I am sure none of you are new to this delicious and spicy chicken 65 which serves as starters. The chicken 65 in restaurant look dark red in color because they add red food color but I didn’t. If you want to add color add natural food color. I have used airfryer for making chicken 65 but you can deep fry it too.
Pre time – 10 mins
Cook time – 30 mins
Marination time – 30 mins
Serve as – Starters
Chicken (with bone) – 500 gm (cut the chicken in medium pieces)
Yogurt/curd – 200 gm
Ginger paste – ½ tbsp
Garlic paste – ½ tbsp
Red chilly pwdr – 1 tsp
Dry coriander/dhania – 2 tsp
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Lemon juice/vinegar – 2 tsp
Curry leaves – 8- 10
Green chillies – 4-5 (slit lengthwise)
Peprika pwdr OR kashmiri red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp (for color)
Salt – as per taste
If you are using air fryer
Oil – 1 tbsp
If you are doing deep fry
Oil – as needed
Strain excess water from the curd. Put this curd in a large bowl.
Add ginger and garlic paste, red chilli pwdr, dry coriander pwdr, curry leaves, green chillies, soya
sauce, lemon juice, paprika pwdr and salt. Mix them well.
Add chicken pieces into this mixture. Mix well to coat the chicken.
Cover and marinate for 30 to 40 mins in refrigerator.
Cooking in air fryer
Add oil to the chicken, mix well. (you add while marination).
Pre heat the air fryer in 180′ for 5 mins.
After 5 mins take out the air fryer basket and keep 7 to 8 chicken pieces in a time. Push the basket inside, insure that lid is closed properly.
Cook chicken in 180′ for 15 minutes.
Deep fry method
Heat oil in kadai on medium heat.
Place marinated chicken pieces to the oil. Cook till chicken get soft.
Take curd, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli, coriander pwdr, green chillies, curry leaves, paprika, soya sauce, lime juice and salt
Add chicken, mix well
After 30 mins
Cook it in preheated air fryer for 15 mins, 180 d
After 15 mins
Chicken 65 is ready.
