Prawns Tempura

Pre time – 15 mins

Cook time – 1 to 2 mins foe per batch


Prawns (better use large) – 500 g or 18 to 20

Soya sauce – 1 tsp

Vinegar – 1 tsp

Bread crumbs – ½ to 1 cup

Oil – for deep frying

For making Better

Cornflour -4 tbsp

Wheat flour – 2 tbsp

Egg – 1

Black pepper – ¼ tsp

Salt – as needed

Garlic paste – 1 tsp

Baking soda – a pinch

Water – less than ½ cup


Take washed and cleaned prawn and make 3 -4 cut to make them straight.

In a bowl take prawns add soya sauce and vinegar, mix them well. Keep it aside for 5 mins.

Now for making better in a bowl take egg whisk it, then add cornflour, wheat flour, black pepper, baking

soda, garlic paste and salt. Add water and make medium thick better.

Take breadcrumbs in a plate. Do not take all breadcrumbs in a  time, take little by little.

Heat oil for deep frying.

Take prawns and dip it in better and coat it nicely with breadcrumbs and place it in hot oil, deep fry until it gets golden brown in medium ti high flame.(fry 3 – 4 prawns in a time)

Drain them on paper towel.

Serve hot.

In Short


Make 3 -4 cut to make prawns straight


Add soya sauce and vinegar


Mix well


Beat egg


Add cornflour, wheat flour, garlic paste, pepper, salt and baking soda


Add water and make medium thick better


Dip prawns in this better


Coat with the bread crumbs


Deep fry them


Deep fry till golden brown
