Aam Ka Murabba

Sweet and tangy aam ka murabba is made from unripe raw green mango. You can have this murabba with bread, roti, puri and paratha. It is very popular among kids. You can preserve it in refrigerator for a year.

Measuring cup used 1 cup = 220 ml

Raw green mango (use less fiber mango) – 2 large OR 1 ½ cup grated mango

Sugar – 1 ½ to 1 ¾ cup (adjust according to your taste)

Salt – 2 pinch

Green cardamom – 4-5 (make powder)

Cinnamon powder – a pinch (optional)

Ghee – 2 tsp


Rinse, wipe and peel the mango.

Grate them and set aside.

Melt ghee in a kadai or pan.

Place grated mango to the kadai and fry them over medium flame for 2-3 minutes.

Add sugar.

Stir this mango and sugar mixture very well.

Cook this mix over low-medium heat, initially the sugar will melt and consistency will be watery.

Stir often and cook till you get 2 thread consistency or the mix turns little thick. If you cook more the murabba will turn hard.

Turn off the flame, add green cardamom, salt and cinnamon powder mix very well. ( add a pinch of cinnamon powder not more then that)

Cool aam ka murabba completely and store it in a glass jar.

Serve it with bread, roti, paratha and puri.

In short


Rinse the raw mangoes and dry them


Peel them


Grate them


Heat ghee in a kadai


Place grated mango



Fry them over medium flame for 2-3 minutes


Add sugar


After some time sugar gets melted, cook this mix till you get 2 thread consistency


Turn off the flame, add cardamom powder, salt and cinnamon powder


Stir and turn off the flame
