Mango Panna / Aam Panna

About Recipe

Aam ka panna is sweet and tangy summer beverage made with roasted or boiled raw mango, jaggery and flavored with roasted cumin powder and pepper powder. Aam ka panna is popular summer cooler in india. It has many health benefits as it keeps your body cool in summer, raw mangoes are rich in vitamin c, jaggery is also rich in iron.

Preparation Time – 20 min

Cook time – 5 min

Cusine – Indian

Serve – 3-4 glass

Ingredients

Raw mango – 2 (medium )

Jaggery/gur – 3-4 tbsp

Roasted cumin powder – 2 tsp

Black salt – ½ tsp

Black pepper – ¼ tsp

Salt – according to you taste

Cold or normal water – 500 ml approximately

Note – if you want or like add few mint leaf too

Method

Rinse the raw mangoes in water.

Dry roast them over gas top over medium flame till the outer part of mango turn black OR boil them in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistle till they turn soft or pulpy. I have dry roasted them for nice smoky flavor,

Peel them and take out the pulp. I have got ¾ cup of pulp.

In a small blender take mango pulp, jaggery, roasted cumin powder, pepper powder, black salt and normal salt. (if adding mint leaf add now)

Blend them till smooth paste.

Take this paste in a bowl add water. You can add water accordingly if you want thick panna add 2 cups of water or if you want thin panna add 3 cups of water.

Mix very well.

While serving aam ka panna add ice cubes and mint leaf.

Tips
I am using raw kalmi aam which is little sweet in taste but you can use any raw mango of your choice.
Adding sugar or jaggery is depend up to your taste.

 

In Short
