Easy Potato Fry
Preparation Time – 10 mins
Cooking time – 15 mins
Recipe Type – side dish
How many – 2-3
Potato – 350 g OR 4-5 medium sized potatoes
Garlic clove – 4-5 (grated)
Cumin – ½ tsp
Mustard – ½ tsp
Red chili powder – ½ – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Sunflower or mustard oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
First nicely rinse the potatoes with water.
Now peel them and cut them into the small cubes.
Again rinse it and drain it properly then set aside.
In a kadai (take thick bottom kadai) heat oil.
Add mustard and cumin seeds, let them crackle.
Add potato cubes and give a nice mix with spatula.
Now cover it with the lid and cook over medium flame for a minute.
Now open the lid add red chili, coriander, turmeric, garam masala and salt, stir well.
Again cover with the lid and cook for 5-6 minutes over low- medium flame or till potato gets soft.
Potato fry is ready have it with paratha, puri and dal – rice.
For more flavor add chopped green chilies and curry leaves.
In Short ;
Peel, cut into cubes and rinse them very well
Add cumin and mustard seeds, let them crackle nicely
Add grated garlic and wait for 2-3 seconds, not more then that
Add potato cubes, stir well
Put lid and cook at medium flame for a minute
Open the lid add red chili, coriander, turmeric, garam masala powder and salt, stir
Again put lid and cook till potatoes gets soft (it take very less time to cook) over low- medium flame
Potato fry is ready
