Quick Paneer Hara Masala

About Recipe

Paneer hara masala is very easy, quick and simple paneer recipe.  Serve it with chapati, paratha and rice.

Preparation Time – 10 min

Cook time – 15 min

Cuisine – North Indian

Serve –3



Paneer /cottage cheese – 200 – 250 g

Onion – 1 big or 2 medium (finely chopped)

Red chilli powder – ½ tsp

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Salt – as per taste

Water – 1/2 -3/4 cup

Oil – 2-3 tbsp

To grind masala

Coriander leaves – ½ cup

Green chilli – 3

Tomato – 1 medium (chopped)

Garlic clove – 4-5

Ginger – ½ inch


Cut paneer in cubes and set aside.

In a small blender take coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic and tomato, blend them till smooth without adding water. set aside.

Heat oil in a kadai.

Add finely chopped onion and saute till translucent.

Add blended paste, saute it for a minute.

Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Fry till oil saprets from the masala.

Add water and bring it to boil.

When the water starts to boil simmer the flame and wait for a minute.

Add paneer cubes, wait for 30 seconds then turn off the flame.

Serve it hot with chapati, paratha and rice.


In Short



Take ingredients under ‘to grind masala’ in a blender


Make fine paste


Heat oil, place onion


Saute till translucent


Add blended paste


Add coriander, turmeric, red chili and garam masala powder


Fry till oil separates from the masala


Add water, bring it to boil then simmer the flame and cook  for a minutes


Add paneer cubes and turn off the flame


Paneer hara masala is ready
