How To Make Eggless Banana Cake (soft and spongy)

   Today I am sharing how to make eggless banana cake which is super moist and spongy.  I made this cake using maida but you can try it with wheat flour too. In this i have added charoli (dry fruit) but you can add any other dry fruit of your choice.  Lets see its recipe.

Preparation time – 15 mins

Baking  time – 30-35 mins




  Maida/all purpose – 1 ¼ cup

  Butter – 100 g or little less than 1/2 cup

  Curd – ¼ cup

  Milk – ½ cup

  Powdered sugar – ½ cup

 Ripe Banana ( mashed) – 2 small Sized OR 1/3 cup mashed banana (do not add more banana otherwise your cake will become banana halwa)

  Vanilla essence – ½ tsp 

  Baking soda – ½ tsp

  Baking powder – ½ tsp

  Chironji/charoli or any nuts – 1 to 2 tbsp




  Ensure that all the ingredients are in room temperature. Batter keep curd, milk and butter outside of the  refrigerator an hour before you start mixing ingredients.

 Preheat the oven at 180′ for 10 mins.

Grease the cake mould and spread little maida into it. Keep aside.

Combine the maida, baking soda and baking powder.

Sieve 1-2 times and keep aside.

  In a mixing bowl take butter and whisk it  for 3-4 minute or until it become soft and fluffy. 

  Now add curd and whisk for a minute.

  Now add powdered sugar, whisk until the mix become soft and fluffy.

  Add mashed banana and vanilla essence, mix.

  Add milk and charoli/chironji, just mix.

  Now start adding flour to the mix, 4-5 tbsp at a time. Gently fold the mixture until the flour  is mix well with butter mix. But do not over mix just mix gently.

The batter should be in pouring consistency.

  Now place this cake mix in the greased vessel.

Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180 ‘ for 10 minutes.

Immediately place the cake mold in pre-heated oven and  bake it at 180′  for 30-35 minute.

After 30-35 minutes insert a toothpick in cake if toothpick is clean means your cake is done.

Unmold is after 30 minutes.

Serve hot or in room temperature.



You can make this cake in pressure cooker too.

Use fresh ingredients for making cake.

Always use powdered sugar for making cake.

All the ingredients should be in room temperature.

Banana cake always taste good when it is fresh so finish it in a day. 


In Short


Grease the cake mold with butter and maida flour


Strain maida, baking powder and baking soda , 1-2 times


Whisk butter for 3-4 minute till it gets fluffy and soft


Add curd


Whisk for a minute


Add powdered sugar and mix very well


Add mashed banana


Add vanilla essence and mix


Add milk


Add charoli, mix


Add maida gradually and fold gently


Batter should be pouring consistency


Transfer this mix to the greased mold and bake it for 30-35 minutes at 180′ in preheated oven


After 30-35 minutes insert a toothpick in cake if toothpick is clean means your cake id ready



Unmold the cake after 30 minutes
