Chole And Bread Chaat / Chole And Bread Dahi Chaat

Making variety chaat is very common at my home, I like to serve it as breakfast because it is very easy and healthy. Today i made bread and chana chaat for that i have used brown bread but you can use white bread as well. I hope you will like this delicious chaat recipe and give it a try.

Ingredients

Measurement cup used 1 cup – 240 ml

Bread slice – 5-6

Butter / ghee – 2 tsp or more

White chana / Kabuli chana – 1 cup, soaked overnight

Onion – 1, medium, chopped

Red chili powder – ½ – 1 tsp

Turmeric – ½ tsp

Garam masala – 1 tsp

Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Anardana powder / pomegranate powder or dry mango powder – 1 tsp

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 2 tbsp.

Coriander leaves – 2tbsp

Water – 2 cups, approximately

For Toppings

Sweet Imli ki chutney / tamarind chutney – ½ cup

Green chutney – ¼ cup

Tomato – 1, medium, finely chopped

Whisked curd – 2-3 tbsp (add little sugar)

Red chili powder – as needed

Chaat masala – as needed

Roasted cumin powder – as needed

Namkin sev – as needed

Method

Soak 1 cup of kabuli chana over night or 5-6 hours in water.

Next dry drains the water completely. Put it in pressure cooker add 1 ½ cups of water and salt then pressure cook it. For pressure cooking after 1 whistle simmer the flame and cook for 12-15 more minutes. Let the pressure settles down on its own. After pressure cooking the chana should be soft and mushy.

Meanwhile take 5-6 bread slices (brown or white), remove the brown edges then cut them into small cubes.

Heat 2 tsp butter or ghee (if you want crispier add more), place these bread cubes and roast them until light brown and crispy. Set it aside.

Now heat 2 tbsp of oil in a kadai, add chopped onion, saute it until light pink.

Add red chili, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, cumin, and pomegranate powder, stir to mix them.

Add cooked chana then Add 1/2 cup of water, bring it to boil then simmer the flame and cook for 2 minutes.

Finally add chopped coriander leaves then turn off the heat.

In a bowl or plate take prepared chana masala, top of it put some roasted bread crumbs.

Then whisked curd and sweet tamarind chutney.

Add finely chopped tomato and green chutney.

Add namikin sev, sprinkle some chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder and enjoy.

 

Tips

Topping you can add according to your taste.

You can toast the bread first then can cut it.
