Sprout Idli / Moong Dal Sprout Idli
Preparation time – 5 mins
Cooking time – 10 mins
Recipe Type – breakfast
Serve – 8 – 10 idlies
Measurement cup used 1 cup = 240 ml
Moongdal sprout / Green dal sprout – ½ cup
Idli batter – 1 cup
Green chili – 1 – 2
Ginger – 1/2 – 1 inch
Cumin / jeera – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Take 1/2 sprout, 1 green chili, 1/2 inch chopped ginger, 1/2 tsp cumin and salt
Add little water and make smooth paste
Add this paste to the 1 cup idli batter, give a nice mix. Batter consistency should be like regular idli batter. Here you can add grated carrot to make it more healthy and tasty.
Pour this batter to the idli mould and make idlies
Serve with sambar, any south Indian chutney or podi.
You can also make dosa with this batter.
