Hot Milk Cake

 This simple, old fashined Hot Milk Cake is very easy and so delicious. It is a traditional cake served in Southern – America.   

                                 In this cake beating the egg is very important. If you will not beat egg continuously for 5-6 minutes your cake will not rise well . 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Preparation Time – 20 mins

Baking time –  30 – 35 mins

INGREDIENTS:

 

Measurement cup used 1 cup = 240 ml

Maida / all propose flour – 1 cup

Baking powder – 1 tsp

Eggs – 2

Milk – ½ cup

Unsalted butter – ¼ cup

Sugar – ¾ cup

Vanilla essence – 1 tsp

Salt – ¼ tsp

Note – when I baked this cake I used twice of this quantity.

 

Method

Preheat oven at 180 d or 350 f, for 5 minutes.

Grease and flour a cake mold and keep aside.

Nicely mix or strain maida, salt and baking powder. Keep  aside.

Take eggs in a large mixing bowl beat them for about 5-6 minutes continuously. After 5-6 minutes you will to get fluffy and creamy mix.

Add Sugar in it keep beating for 2 more minute. For beating i have used electric blender.

Combine the butter and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil turn off the heat. Set aside.

Add maida, salt and baking powder mixture, in 2 to 3 times. Mix gently.

Pour milk and butter mix. again mix gently.

Add vanilla essence and mix.

immediately transfer the mixture to the prepared cake mold.

Now bake the cake at 180 d or 350 f, for 30 – 35 minutes.

Once cake is done insert one tooth pick in it, if it comes out clean means you cake is done or if it is bit sticky then bake the for 5-6 more minutes.

After 20 minutes unmold the cake and enjoy .
